Position Title: Law Clerk
First or Second Year Law Student Status Required
Reports to: Attorney and Paralegal
Normal Work Hours: 15 – 25/ week
Employment Status: Part-time

Job Purpose: To provide support to attorneys and team at all stages of client representation including client intake, initial interviewing, case strategy, negotiation and litigation.
Job Description:
- Correspondence: Assists with client intake and emails.
- Litigation Calendar Management: Records relevant dates; anticipates and calculates deadlines; schedules case events, including depositions; plans basic travel attorneys, clients, and witnesses.
- Drafting: Drafts motions and forms; perform; gathers factual evidence and prepares exhibits; verifies citations and proofreads; finalizes and files documents.
- Research: Conducts research on the Internet, social media, virtual databases, local/state/federal rules of procedure, Westlaw, etc.
- Depositions and trial: Assist with all aspects of depositions and trial preparation.
- Discovery and file management: Utilizes cloud-based e- filing systems effectively; requests records; documents and maintains relevant documents.
- Teamwork: Follows up on delegated tasks and assignments; refers matters to attorney or paralegal as necessary; supports and collaborates with colleagues in the firm as needed
Skills:
- Microsoft Office Suite; Adobe Acrobat; Zoom
- Willingness to learn and use case management software (Clio)
- Willingness to learn and use legal research tools (Westlaw)
- Outstanding technical, organizational, research, and communication skills.

- Strong interest in Family Law.
